National Gallery – Alexandros Soutsos Museum
With the issue of 10 self-adhesive personalized stamps, the Hellenic Post pays tribute to the National Gallery – Alexandros Soutsos Museum, which was founded in 1900. Today, the National Gallery collections comprise more than 20,000 works of painting, sculpture, engraving and other forms of art; this is the treasury of Modern Greek art, encompassing the period from the post-Byzantine times until today. Moreover, the National Gallery owns a remarkable collection of Western European paintings. The edition is accompanied by a Special Commemorative Postmark.

The Special Commemorative Postmark will be available for 3 consecutive Thursdays from its release date, at the Syntagma Post Office, Mitropoleos 2, 105 63 Athens, from 09:00 to 13:00.
Alternatively, you can send your postal items free of charge to the Philatelic Service (100 Eolou St., 2nd floor, 10188 Athens), within 60 days from the release date (the post office stamping indicates the date of posting).
Philatelic items to be postmarked must bear the name and full address of the sender so that they can be sent to them. Please mark the envelope “PHILATELIC ITEMS”.
ATTENTION!
To obtain an imprint of the commemorative postmark on a postal item, you must have affixed stamps of at least the minimum value of B’ priority domestic mail (20 gr), today 1,20 €.
At the end of the year, Hellenic Post will release a set of envelopes stamped with commemorative postmarks especially for commemorative postmark collectors. Each envelope will have the minimum value of B’ priority domestic mail (20 gr), today 1,20 €, stamp affixed to it and will be stamped with one of the special commemorative postmarks for 2023.
