350 Years Petraki Monastery (8/2023)
The Hellenic Post Office is releasing the Commemorative Series of Stamps "350 Years Petraki Monastery", and promoting this unique Monastery, which was one of the largest religious and spiritual centers of Greece. It owned vast areas of Attica which were gradually granted to the state, essentially defining its urban map, and contributing to the formation of its physiognomy. Today, Petraki Monastery has 100 brother-monks. All of them are engaged in missionary work in Greece or abroad, continuing the offer of the founder of the Monastery, Hieromonk Parthenios Papastamatis (aka Parthenios Petrakis).
